Terms of Service
These terms are an agreement between you and TabVault, based in Ontario, Canada ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
1. Who can use TabVault
You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only use the app with the permission of a parent or guardian, who agrees to these terms for you.
You are responsible for your account and for keeping your password safe. Tell us right away if you think someone else has access to it.
2. What the app does
TabVault helps you keep track of your purchases. You can scan receipts, upload PDFs, paste order emails or type purchases in, and the app organizes them, shows insights, tracks budgets and savings goals, and answers questions about your spending.
Reading receipts, answering questions and the monthly review use artificial intelligence (AI). The Privacy Policy explains exactly what is sent to the AI and when.
AI can make mistakes: it may misread a store, a price, a date or an item, or give an answer that is incomplete. Its results are suggestions for you to check, and you can edit anything it produces. Always check important details against the original receipt.
To keep the service fair and affordable, AI features may have reasonable usage limits.
TabVault is a personal organizing tool. It is not financial, tax, legal or investment advice, and it is not a bank or accounting service. Budgets, savings estimates and insights are approximate and based only on what you add to the app.
Currency conversions use published reference exchange rates and may differ from what your bank or card actually charged.
3. Your content
Your receipts, photos, notes and settings belong to you. You give us permission to store, process and display them only to run the app for you: for example to read your receipts with AI, sync them between your devices and show you insights.
Only add receipts and information you have the right to use. Don't upload anything illegal, or other people's private information without their permission.
You can export your purchases at any time (Profile → Account & data → Export my data) and delete your account and all of its data (Profile → Account & data → Delete account).
4. Acceptable use
Please don't misuse the app. That includes trying to access other people's accounts or data, interfering with or overloading our servers, reverse engineering the app, using it to break the law, or using automated tools to send large numbers of requests.
We may limit or suspend accounts that break these rules or put the service or other users at risk.
5. Subscriptions and payments
Some features may require a paid subscription. Subscriptions are sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play and are billed to your store account.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. You can cancel at any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings; cancelling stops future renewals, and you keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
If a free trial is offered, you will be charged when it ends unless you cancel before then.
Prices are shown in the app before you buy and may change. If a price changes, it applies from your next renewal, and the store will tell you as required.
All purchases are final. See the Refund Policy for details.
6. Changes and availability
We keep improving TabVault, so features may change, be added or be removed. We try to keep the app available, but we can't promise it will always work without interruption or errors.
We may update these terms. If the changes are important, we will tell you in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the new terms.
7. Ending your account
You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time from Profile → Account & data → Delete account. Deleting your account does not cancel a store subscription: cancel it in the App Store or Google Play too.
We may close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms. If we stop offering the app, we will give reasonable notice where we can so you can export your data.
8. Disclaimers and limits of liability
The app is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we don't give warranties of any kind, including that the app will be accurate, error-free or fit for a particular purpose.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, lost data, lost savings or decisions made based on the app, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or CA$50 if you haven't paid anything).
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, unless the consumer laws of the place where you live say otherwise.
